Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matt 28:19-20)

A major danger of a declining church is the ability to thwart Christ’s purpose, and to make it both impossible and undesirable that God should add to us souls for whom He has died. It is a solemn thing to feel that we may clog Christ’s chariot-wheels, that there may be so little spiritual life in us, as a local church, that, Christ ‘dare not intrust us with the responsibility of guarding and keeping the young converts whom He loves and tends.

We may not be fit to be trusted with them, and that may be why we do not get them. It may not be good for them that they should be dropped into the refrigerating atmosphere of such a church, and that may be why they do not come.’ The foundation for Christian spirituality and morality is destroyed when the Bible is rejected and we fail to share the Gospel. Church grows under the power of the Holy Spirit and true gospel to save souls, and it transcends all culture. Let us pray for leadership renewal and regenerated local churches totally devoted to Jesus Christ (Acts 2).
