The candles on the cake are sixty now,
Yet in my heart, you’re forever young.
I trace the lines of every memory,
And hear the songs we once together sung.
I cannot wrap a gift or hold your hand,
Or hear your laughter echoing so clear,
But on this milestone day, I bridge the gap,
And feel you resting safely, ever near.
Time steals the years, but cannot steal the love,
Or dim the brilliant light you left behind.
Today, I celebrate the gift you were,
The gentlest soul and dearest friend I’ll find.
So blow the candles out among the stars,
And know I keep your memory shining bright.
Happy sixtieth birthday, little one,
I love you yesterday, and through the night.
My dearest sister, Bolanle Christiana Okufuwa, nee Okegbile, would have marked your 60th birthday today, 27th June, 2026. While our hearts ache that you are not here to celebrate this milestone with us, our minds are flooded with the beautiful memories we shared. Amidst the sorrow, knowing you are not here to celebrate your 60th birthday with us. There is a sense of gratitude to the Almighty God for having known a person like you. The influence and the love you shared remain an enduring part of us as a family.
Bolanle, your transition almost twelve years ago remains painful, but a victory over death, human betrayal and disappointments. You came with Christ in you, you saw, and you conquered. Bolanle, a gifted and successful entrepreneur, loving, hardworking, and a virtuous woman, we cannot forget you. Your successful entrepreneurship was taken for hatred; your love was returned with abandonment and physical abuse. Your hardworking habits were misinterpreted. Your virtuosity was taken for granted and abused. The enemies did their worst. Indeed, a snake is not dangerous when it bites; it was already dangerous when hidden in the grass. Shame to the devil. We would have loved to give flowers while you can still smell them. Bolanle, you live on. Your spiritual, hardworking, and entrepreneurial legacies abide, and the gates of hell will not prevail. Bolanle, your children and grandchildren remain resolute to make sure your legacies not only abide, but that the glory of the latter house shall be greater than before.
Bolanle, you brought so much joy, laughter, and light into our family. Even though you were my junior, your wisdom and warmth often guided me. Today, I do not just mourn your absence; I celebrate the incredible privilege of having you as my sister.
Though you are gone, your legacy of kindness, strength, and laughter lives on in all of us. Bolanle, your birthday reminds us of the joy you brought to the world—and how deeply you are missed. We will celebrate you today, just as we always have — with love, gratitude, and a heart full of memories.
Though time and distance keep us apart, we carry you inside our hearts. Your laugh, your light, your fearless grace still echoes in this quiet space. Happy Birthday, dear sister — so true, This day still belongs to you. Thank you for the beautiful moments we shared and the love you left behind. Happy 60th heavenly birthday, my sweet sister. Continue to rest in Jesus’ bosom till Resurrection Day. Your labour will never be in vain in Jesus’ mighty name. Please remember her children and grandson in prayer.
